Orthopaedics is a vital subject in D.N.B. final theory paper 2 and we only get 1 month posting in ortho. So its very difficult to master all basic aspects of the subject in short time.You can prepare theory from few U.G. time books like Maheshwari or others if any you know.But working with your orthopaedic surgeon consultants is important.
Observe how they diagnose ,investigate,manage,counsel their patients.How they correlate their management with other surgeons or physicians when multiple co morbidities are their in a patient.You can also brush few skills in casualty posting like Thomas splint application,slab preparation,managing trauma.Its interesting subject to learn in short time.The aim of this posting is that you should be able to diagnose patient in time and refer them in time to right centre.Learn to master aspects of conservative orthopaedics too.Its not always about C arm and O.Ts.
